HOW IT WORKS
Never hired a designer before?
What does a Designer do?
Plans out an overall design scheme for a property based on knowledge of, Architecture, Art History and the Decorative Arts.
Brings a broad understanding of areas related to home construction including…cabinet making, electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, roofing systems, sewer and septic systems etc. to help a client make informed choices.
A professional provides a level of aesthetic sensibility that would not be attainable otherwise.
What you should know before hiring a designer:
Understand the relationship before calling… If you need help designing a home or garden then it would be fair to say you aren’t the expert. Don’t hire a design professional to validate your design choices. Hire them to raise the standards, fix the problems and provide inspiration.
Have an idea what you budget will be.
Call the designer before you start your project not after it’s completed.
If you do call in a professional to help resolve mistakes be prepared to face realistic solutions and difficult choices.
